Sponsoring the Solihull Greener Schools Awards 2025
Supporting three Solihull schools on their eco initiatives
Tel Group is proud to announce its continued sponsorship of the Solihull Greener Schools Awards, supporting three remarkable local schools on their environmental journeys: Grace Academy, Apollo School, and St Augustine’s.
Our partnership works with Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council to empower young people to take meaningful climate action while celebrating the creativity and commitment already thriving within their school communities.
As part of our sponsorship, the Tel Group team was delighted to attend the school’s celebration events, where their eco teams showcased a wide range of innovative sustainability projects, leaving us truly inspired.
From Grace Academy’s “No Electricity Day” where staff and pupils spent the school day without heating, lighting, or cooked lunches to highlight the everyday impact of climate change, to Apollo Schools’ imaginative Bee B&Bs, designed to boost local bee populations and educate pupils about biodiversity, every project reflected passion, teamwork, and genuine environmental awareness.
Across all three schools, pupils presented achievements in areas including:
- Improving air quality through tree-planting and anti-idling campaigns
- Promoting active travel, encouraging walking, cycling, and scooting
- Enhancing green spaces to create healthier, more vibrant community environments
Each celebration event featured a mix of performances, discussions, and hands-on activities that encouraged young people to “think globally and act locally.” Their work highlighted not only the importance of sustainability education but also the power of youth leadership in shaping a greener future.
The events were attended by the Mayor of Solihull, who presented certificates to all participating schools. As part of our sponsorship, Tel Group has donated £400 towards the schools eco projects, enabling pupils to continue developing environmental initiatives throughout 2025-2026.
By sponsoring the Solihull Greener Schools Awards, Tel Group reaffirms its commitment to sustainability, community partnership, and empowering young people to lead the charge towards a more sustainable world.
