FTTP (Fibre to the Premises)
FTTP (Fibre to the Premises) is a pure fibre connection from the exchange into your premises, offering higher broadband speeds.
Full fibre services provide the capacity and speed needed for your daily operations with complete flexibility to future-proof your school as demand for internet services increases.
- High Speeds – Using fibre optic technology, your school can send data over 10x faster than traditional broadband.
- High Performance – FTTP is delivered via fibre, not copper lines, meaning bandwidth is unaffected by the distance between your premises and the cabinet. Copper connections which are widely used in schools at present do not meet the DfE standards.
- Unlimited Data – With no catches, caps or hidden penalties, you’re free to use as much data as needed.
- Cost Effective – FTTP is a cost-effective internet service, ideal for schools who are looking for maximum performance but aren’t interested in the benefits of Ethernet.
SoGEA (Single Order Generic Ethernet Access)
SoGEA is a new standalone broadband-only product created after Openreach decided to shut down the ISDN and PSTN network by 2027.
SoGEA provides the internet connection you require within a single order and without a PSTN line, with lower installation and rental costs.
- Dedicated line – SoGEA is a dedicated internet line that connects broadband to your premises.
- Future Proof – SoGEA broadband will ensure your school stays connected ahead of the 2027 PSTN switch off.
- High speeds – Download speeds of up to 80Mbps, using the same reliable and resilient fibre-based technology as traditional fibre broadband (FTTC).
- No Additional Charges – ‘Unmetered’ usage policy means you can use as much data as you need at no extra cost to your monthly fee.
Leased Lines

2027 PSTN Switch Off
